Stepping back in time is the only way to describe Friday night. Walking into a room with about 200 people in it, and recognizing almost every face there was very strange. It was like walking the hallways between classes or walking through the cafeteria to find a seat during lunch 10 years earlier.
It was awkward, but a rush at the same time. I saw people Friday night I thought I would never see again, some people had not changed a bit, and others had gone through transformations that would take most people a lifetime to reach. Almost everyone is now married and with kids, most people are still in It was nice to fill in the gaps of questions you ask yourself over the years wondering where someone is now and what they are doing. For the most part they are just living life, getting through the day and making ends meet, just like everyone else. Jake was missing from this weekend, so it really was not complete without him there, but his sister Holly filled in for him. Being together gets harder and harder as we get older, but these are my life long friends, there is no distance large enough to take away the friendship that made us who we are today. We will forever have those memories and stories, and tell each other about them over and over, and they will remain just as funny now as they were then.
Being from Ireland, and from Limerick you would think I would know some “limericks” Well, I do not know many, and any of the ones I do know or have heard, they were all dirty. So I made up some of my own, about some furry friends in the family that make us smile everyday. So here are some limericks from a true Limerick Man.
Enjoy!
Scruffy
There once was a dog named Scruffy
who thought he was as big as a Dutchy
he threw out his hip, and hung off her lip
and now he’s the king of the puppies.
Scooter
There once was a dog named Scooter
who likes to let out little tooters
she went to the vet for eating chocolate
and now she just smells like a grouper
Dutchy
There once was a dog named Dutchy
she’s the biggest goof nard in the country
she thinks she is small, then slams against the wall
its no wonder her soul mate is scruffy.
Puppa
There once was a dog named Puppa
who barks and barks like a ducka?
she just got shaved, the hawks made her prey
but she just barks until they want to upchucka.
Sue
There once was a dog named Sue
you never know what he can do
he sits in the yard, and thinks we’re all nards
and wonders when the next time is supper.
Sophie
There once was a dog named Sophie
she’s treated like a prize little trophy
she goes on her walks, and barks when you talk
Puppa might have a friend in Sophie.
Chloe
There once was a dog named Chloe
who’s likes to go ice fishing for Joey
she jumps on the couch, and licks on the snout
she’s as quick as that guy Obi-Wan Kenobi
Heidi
There once was a dog named Heidi
she’s a nervous wreck and does not like to wet her hiney
she barks at the dark, and growls at a fart
but she’s freakin African Besinge alrighty!

I have more Uncles and Aunts then I can even count in my family. Most of them I have never met or even know. Being a long way from home you lose contact with them, and then the time you spent with them becomes a distant memory. It shouldn’t be like that, but that’s how life goes sometimes, you grow up and then realize how important those people are and that they love you even from the other side of the world, and even if they haven’t see you in twenty years.
My Aunt Isabel falls under that umbrella; I remember her being such a funny lady. She was like a big kid who loved Jenn and I a lot. She was honest, because she loved you. I only have a handful of memories of her being around, she lived in

This weekend Emmett was baptized at his Church. This marks a big milestone in his life, and it was very exciting to be a part of this moment. It seems every time I see Emmett he is getting a little older, a little wiser, and a lot funnier, he is growing up so fast. This summer I have really seen a change in him. He is taking on the big brother role, and he is taking his job very seriously. Sure he can still torment his younger brothers, but thats what big brothers do. But then there are moments when I catch him being their protector and friend. He has taken on more tasks to help his Mom and Dad around the house. It’s amazing to watch and makes all of us very proud. Emmett we are all very proud of you, and look forward to seeing all the great things you are going to accomplish in life.
Take care buddy, and giddy-up.
Uncle Greg.
For as long as I can remember, Superman has been and always will be my favorite superhero. When I was about 3 or 4 I had a pair of blue tights that I would wear around the house, I was full sure these blue tights made me jump higher and fly just a little bit. Out all the comics and all the other heros out there Superman is by far the best. Some argue that Superman has an unfair advantage over other superheros, because he is not from Earth. To them I say, So What? Sure Batman and Spiderman are cool and do cool things, but Superman’s story paralles a deeper story, a more meaningful story and one we all should try to live by. Seeing Superman this past week was very exciting for my sister and I. We have been following the making of this movie for almost two years, we both love Smallville and watch it all the time. The Superman story is something fun we both can get excited about. Everyone laughs at us at how much we get into it, but we don’t care. I thought the movie was awesome, I would love to see it in the IMAX but there just is not one near by. I do plan on seeing it again. Some might say the movie was a little weak on story flow and action, but I think the movie was deeper then that. It was not all about the action, it was about the characters, their emotions and the next chapter in the Superman Story. I could dig deep and go into some of those things, but you might all look at me a little funny next time I see you. Anyway Jenn, as promised here is your Superman Blog.
The above picture is me sleeping with my favorite blankets when I was kid. I always slept better with these blankets on my bed. If I had them today, they would be on my bed now.
Here is a video of my dad and I being Superman. To me this is priceless Video.
