I would like to thank the academy…oh who am I kidding.

So there you have it. I did 30 posts in 30 days. It was actually a lot of fun. I was able to push myself to be a little creative and then not so creative, and you also got to read somethings about me that honestly I thought I would never share with anyone. I will probably do it again next year, but not anytime sooner then that. I hope everyone enjoyed 30 days of nagohness, or NagHO as I am now known at work. Nice eh? Ohh and Kelly as for our bet, I would buy you a beer, pizza or coffee any day of the week sister, no need to loose a bet for that. Thanks for this and the edge of the seat last minute posts, I really thought I had you a few times.  As for when my next post will be? I have no idea, I guess I will just keep you in suspense until then.

One final note, if you have been reading over the last 30 days, your gift to me will be to leave a comment. It is only fair, I mean come on I shared stories of icy hots on my nads, and badunka’s in my face its the least you can do.

Take Care,

Greg

Desmond & Santa 2008

Today we set out to see Santa! Desmond’s first time meeting the Jolly man in Red. He loved him! He got so excited sitting there with him it was just so wonderful! He bounced and laughed and just loved it. I knew he would, and he did.

I am a man on a budget so we headed up to Bass Pro Shop in Macon. Pictures with Santa were free, and they had all their Christmas decorations out, so we seized the moment and plopped Desmond down next to anything and everything that looked cute, we got in and out of there with our free photos. Sure I had to ask 3 random people to take our photo. I am learning to be bold just like my mother. It payed off, here are the results! I am officially kicking the Christmas season off!

Black Friday Veto

I was told I could not post these Christmas light pictures until after Thanksgiving. I guess that’s like the rule of wearing white after Labor Day. I dunno, I just comply. We did not do black Friday this year. i’m not sad. I slept in, as did Desmond. Jackie on the other hand headed out to the grocery store at 7am, yeah shes crazy like that. Her gift to me was to allow me to catch up on my Prison Break (all 5 episodes). I am now fully educated on how to break out and into prison 10 different ways. What a glorious day. Ohh and I set the tivo to record “Home Alone” tomorrow at 2pm, w00t!. Right now, Desmond is scurrying around the floor looking for a tv remote of some kind, he has 3 to pick from. He likes to eat the buttons off them. He already ate the big one off the top of the tivo remote. Jackie is cooking in the kitchen. I know it has onions in it because my eyes are melting off. Plus real bacon and sausage, so I am very excited. She totally touched the bacon too.

If you look to the right on the flickr photo feed you will see what I see right now, and thats a pretty girl cooking, and a little boy getting into something he is not supposed to. Life is good at the Hogans today. I am thankful for all we have and do not miss all we left behind. Only two more posts!!

Besides still eating and sucking on any and all forms of cables, as you can see above. He is doing all sorts of things! Current words that randomly spit out are, Dada, Momma, byebye (and waves). Na-na which we think is ” no no” but he also says “no no”, just depends on his mood I guess. It is said a lot to him around here these days. Doe is a fun one he likes to say. Doe, doe, doe doe, doe doe all day long. I love it.

He is also eating like a horse. Loves chicken, beans, grits, pancakes, we do pancakes every weekend, it has now merged into a weeknight thing too as he loves them so much. He has figured out the sippie cup and likes to suck the monkey right out of that thing. Currently his favorite is water, he loves it.

Ohh and think the Darth impersonation a while back was a fluke? Totally not, he does it all the time now. That mask and poor breathing go hand in hand in his eyes. Also a funny thing this past week is blowing noses. I have had to do a lot of with my sinus issues, and he thinks that is halarious, he also thinks that is Darth time, so its usally followed with him doing his Darth impersonation. Also if I am in the bathroom blowing my nose, you can usually hear him scrambling down the hallway on all fours to catch me doing it. If he gets in this scambling mode on all fours he snorts like a pig. So much energy is being exerted in his crawling/sprinting that he sounds and looks like a pot belly pig. Very funny.

Ok well thats the latest and greatest on the “Des-bond” as we like to call him around here.

Make like a tree and Leaf!

It is fall, and as pretty as fall is, I hate raking leaves. I have hated it for years, but this year, ohh yes this year is wonderful! Why is it so wonderful? I do not have to rake any! I am in an apartment! Oh it is so wonderful. This year I get to enjoy the ground covered in them. This year I got to put Desmond in a great big pile of them and watch him play. He thought they were hilarious! He then ate some, not so hilarious. It was to be expected. Enjoy some photos of the little guy enjoying some leaves. He really did think they were lots of fun. I love that little booger.

Going to see Mamó!

Every Sunday when I was growing up meant a trip to see my Nana out in the county. It was about a 40 minute drive out to County Limerick. I loved it. I looked forward to it every weekend. Here are a list of things I would look forward to:

1. Hot tea with lots of Sugar!
2. Dripping cookies into my hot tea and sugar!
3. Apple Pie or Rhubarb Pie!
4. Chocolate!
5. Finding an awesome stick to play with.
6. Wandering the hills.
7. Heating doughnuts over the fire and rolling them in sugar.
8. Playing with Tiny the wonder dog.
9. Playing in the GIANT SHED!
10. Going to Lough Gur.

Yesterday we took a trip to see Mamó. I was reminded of the Sunday drives to see my grandmother. Now I was doing the same for Desmond, taking him to see his. It made me realize how old I am getting, but somethings never change, we maybe in a different part of the world, doing different things, and have very different lives, but taking a small boy to see his Mamó still brings out the excitement in a child. That is one thing that will never change.

Tonight is the night people! 24 is back! For a 2 hour movie event! We get to hear Jack scream at someone about the location of the weapon, or something dramatic like that! I love 24. I have watched every single episode for every single season. I have not missed a single hour of this man’s terrible, terrible days. Jack Bauer is the man! They cancelled the entire season last year with the writers stike, this was torture! A year and a half between seasons was almost too much. However I have survived and I am excited for this little movie before January rolls around and the new season starts. So set your tivos, pop some popcorn, and snuggle up on the couch for some dramtic television. Jack is BACK baby!

The Wee One.

Just some random Desmond video and photos to fill up a Saturday post. The the above picture was a nice moment we had laying on the bed plucking the strings of the guitar. He likes the guitar. He also loves to hang out inside the dog cage. He thinks its funny when scooter and him are in there together. They are good buddies. Finally here is some video. As you can see the boy loves the bath! Have a great Saturday everyone!

Goawt 101

I like goats. Why do I like goats? What’s NOT to like about a goat? They are wise looking (I think Yoda is half goat). They are easy to maintain, will eat just about anything, and make my nephews laugh when I call them a goat. It all started when I was in 1st grade, and when I was bad my 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Wheeler would threaten to read the book entitled “Gregory the Terrible Eater” to the entire class. The book is about a goat who will not eat properly. I think I blogged about that story last year, so go there for that story. Anyway I think deep down it scared me for life, but I felt a connection with “Gregory the Goat” so since then I have always just liked them.

So I am about to take the goat lesson to a whole new level! I will introduce to you a few interesting types of goats. These are some of my favorite! They make me laugh and facinate me at the same time. So lets begin!

1. Tree Goats: They do exist I promise you, they totally climb tree’s! Like monkeys! They are found in Morocco and climb the Argan trees to eat Argan Berries, which is like Crack for a goat. Just like any Crackhead, you crave something enough you can do impossible tasks.

2. Fainting Goats: These little guys trip me out! When I first saw them I felt bad for them, but they in no way are harmed by this, they just have a gene in them that causes them to get real stiff when startled. They fall over and look like they have fainted. A few seconds later they are back up and walking around. I am inserting a video that gives a good example of them.

3. Mountain Goats: Any goat that likes to hang out on a mountain is a keeper. Especially when they fight! Have you ever seen a battle between these two goats on a mountain? It is very dramatic, plus I consider these goats to be the Ninja breed of their kind. They have such grace and skill on the mountain side, it is very impressive.

So there you have it, your goat lesson for the day. GO GOAWTS!
