Getting to 9pm.

Before Desmond was born, I was in bed at 9pm. I would look forward to 9pm! Because it was bed time and I could snuggle up and just be happy to finally be doing nothing! Ohh how times have changed. Now I look forward to 9pm because that means I have about 2 hours of ME TIME! Desmond is in bed, Jackie is in bed. The house is all mine. I get to surf the internets, or watch a movie, or catch up on my tivo shows. Ohh it is good times! Getting to 9pm is no easy task. Here is an example of what today was like.

Desmond woke up at 7am. Bathe Desmond. Bathe Dogs. Bathe myself. Feed Desmond. Clean House. Go to grocery store. Go to Perry to Feed Sue. Make Dinner. Chase Dutchy around the neighborhood. Clean Kitchen. Clean Desmond’s bottles and refill them. And just when I think it is safe to finally sit down I hear a weird noise from the kitchen in one of the dog cages, and this is what I come up upon….my day never ends.

He loves Foam Beds. This is not the 1st time he has done this either.

Spongebob no legs

I came home yesterday and walked in on this gruesome crime scene, the guilty parties had left the area, however there was a witness. All fingers pointed to Scooter, however Scruffy was to blame for this heinous crime.

My Grandmother has had her share of dogs, two dogs stand out the most. Tiny and Monty. As you can see in the picture this is NOT a picture of Tiny. This is Monty. He was a gentle giant. When I was young I would ride him like a horse, he wouldnt care. He would however slobber something feirce. It was so gross. I wish I had a picture of Tiny, he was about Scooters size and color, but had Scruffys face. He was my best friend every summer. That is all I got, came across the picture and thought I would share it. I thought he deserved a place in cyberspace.

Eye Love Scooter!

So Scooter is doing really well since her eye replacement a few months back. She has really embrassed her new found life style, and I thought I would share some things with you.

1. She really likes to keep an “eye” on things when we are not home.
2. She gives me the “eye” when I do not feed her on time.
3. She loves Pirates, I am not sure why.
4. Sometimes when I tell her to go get her ball, she chases her eye.
5. She only chases squirrels on the left side of the yard.

She can still lick with one eye though, there is no shortage of that. We love you Scooter. :)

Scooter has been doing really well since her eye operation on Tuesday, she woke up in pain Tuesday night, but some pain meds helped her go back to sleep. Today she is doing really well. She seems back to normal in her ways, she chased a squirrel this morning when I opened the door so that to me was a real good sign. Her eye is still swollen, and shaved so it looks weird, but that will all go back to normal over the next few weeks. She sends her licks to all those who asked about her.

Well, scooter asked me tonight if everyone out there would say a little prayer for her, she is having a rough time. It seems that Scooter is having a problem with her eye and vision. She had a pretty quick onset of what appears to be glaucoma in her right eye. Her eye is pretty bad, we had two vet visits in one day. It is now in God’s hands, along with her eye drops, we pray they both can help to give back her vision in that eye, or help her over come a new obstacle that we all know she can do. She is a precious beautiful little dog, and she still has plenty of licks to give out. We love you Scooter, now go get the ball.

Maybe they won't see me……

Scruffy enjoys the simple things in life, this is one of them. If he can find a way to be under a cover then that is where he goes. This one is just to funny not to share.

Sandy the Wonder Dog: Part two

So Sandy lived with us for a few years, she had a real bad habit of running off anytime a door opened, I have chased her up and down my neighborhood, Limerick City and countless other places. The one thing Sandy was good at was tricks, it started with the usual, sit, shake a paw, and stay. Dad however took it to a whole new level, roll over, play dead, and arithmetic. Yes you heard right, arithmetic. 1+1=2 barks, 2+3=5 barks and so on. It was the 1st thing we showed everyone when they came over to visit, she still pee’d all over the place, but she could do her math. When the time came to move to America it was time to find Sandy a home, this proved tricky. Sandy was hyper, very hyper, she needed space and attention. As it turned out my 5th grade teacher lived way out in the county and agreed to take her in, I would go spend a few days with her during the summer before I left and Sandy would be there too. The 1st thing Mrs. Mitchell wanted to do was let her outside, but I warned her, as soon as you open that door Sandy is going to bolt, but she insisted that the dog would do no such thing. What happened next I will never forget, Sandy bolted out the door, jumped a fence and started chasing cows, out runs Mrs. Mitchell screaming words no child should hear their 5th grade teacher say. I do remember how she was yelling at me to catch the dog, because the farmer would shoot her if he saw a dog chasing the cows. This of course scared me, but who was she kidding, there was no catching Sandy, how do you corner a dog in a field full of cows? She finally came home, but a big cage was built, and Sandy spent the rest of her days there with Mrs. Mitchell. That is the last I know of Sandy, I know she lived a happy life chasing cows and doing math, it seems fitting she ended up with a teacher in the end.
